| About Rapid Photo Downloader |
Photo downloader (importer) from cameras, memory cards and portable storage devices.
Rapid Photo Downloader is written by a photographer for professional and amateur photographers, designed for use on the Linux desktop. It can download photos from multiple cameras, memory cards and portable storage devices simultaneously. It provides many flexible options for subfolder creation, image renaming and backup, which can be combined in whatever ways the user specifies. It runs in fourteen languages.
For the moment, downloading directly from cameras is an experimental feature. It works well with some cameras, and badly with others.
The following RAW image formats are supported: ARW, DCR, CR2, CRW, DNG, MEF, MOS, MRW, NEF, ORF, PEF, RAF, RAW, and SR2. Panasonic's RW2 files will be supported in a future version.
Requirements
This application requires GTK+ version 2.10.x.
Other dependencies include: python 2.5 or 2.6,
python-gnome2,
python-gtk2,
python-glade2,
python-pyexiv2, and
python-notify |
| Latest Version: 0.1.3 |
This release fixes bugs relating to handling problems with missing and/or read-only download directories, and better handles cases where the desktop notification system has bugs.
When both the backup and "Delete images from image device upon download completion" options are selected, the program will only delete an image from the image device if it was both downloaded to the download folder and backed up. Previously, it did not check to ensure it was backed up correctly too.
All users are recommended to update.
